About InkyPen

Hello fellow Manga & Comic enthusiasts! InkyPen was founded in 2017, as a result of wanting something that didn't yet exist. InkyPen CEO Ronan Huggard and games company Rain CEO Peter Meldahl, started drawing the outlines for an All-you-can-read subscription service that allowed comic book and graphic novel fans to read what they want, when they want. The company is developed by a team of comic book enthusiasts from Norway and Luxembourg, who’s continuing focus is building an extensive catalogue of graphic novels and comics available from all over the world, including Manga, U.S comic books and European comics. Our inventory contains top publishers, among them Image Comics, IDW, Dark Horse Comics, Valiant and Kodansha.

In December 2018 InkyPen launched as one of the three first non-game applications on Nintendo Switch™, directly following in the footsteps of Hulu and Youtube. InkyPen was declared a Gazelle company in 2023.

InkyPen Exclusively Partners with Official Black Mirror Graphic Novel for Steam

Following a digital rights partnership agreement between Twisted Comics and InkyPen, readers are set to get a sneak peek of the first 20-pages of the hotly anticipated official Black Mirror graphic novel adaptation of USS Callister, the groundbreaking episode beloved by gamers and sci-fi fans alike.

Readers can sign up to InkyPen, an all-you-can-read comic subscription which launches soon on Steam, to read the preview of the dystopian tale, published by Twisted Comics, and adapted by Neil Gibson and illustrated by Slivano Beltramo. The exclusive preview marks the launch of the Black Mirror comics and begins a long-term partnership with InkyPen which will see the graphic novels feature on the gaming platforms.

Twisted Comics secured the rights to adapt the dystopian series as graphic novels from Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of content powerhouse Banijay Entertainment. The comic publishers are utilising Kickstarter to invite fans in on the ground level, with exclusives, rarities, and the first chance to own the graphic novel featuring a brand new cover by infamous Black Mirror artist Butcher Billy. You can get a copy and explore what else is available at:

Black Mirror Kickstarter

Collectible hardbacks of USS Callister are available to pre-order on Kickstarter now, alongside chances to be drawn alongside the crew, and collector editions with covers by Bill Elliot, who illustrated some Space Fleet comics in-show, script books and more. First introduced to Black Mirror viewers in 2017, episode USS Callister features fearless leader Captain Robert Daly and his Space Fleet crew, flying at velocity on the spaceship on a quest to defeat their arch enemy Valdack, striving towards the betterment of the universe. Or so it appears. Banijay Rights represents a range of global ancillary rights for the Black Mirror brand. Created by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, the dark satirical anthology series taps into our collective unease with the modern world. Each stand-alone episode is a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary paranoia.

Produced by Broke & Bones, Black Mirror returned for a seventh series on Netflix in April this year.

USS Callister is available now for pre-order and will publish in Autumn/Winter 2025. San Junipero will follow in 2026.

“If one person is to write Black Mirror in the comics world, it would have to be Neil Gibson. I can’t see a better choice. Having the right indie publisher entrusted with a revered brand is a rare treat. We just had to get involved.” says Ronan Huggard, InkyPen Founder & CEO.

“The InkyPen team have the ability to do things no one else can, with Black Mirror, that’s exactly what we need.” says Neil Gibson, Writer and Publisher at Twisted Comics.

“[The episode USS Callister] in particular was close to my heart, since it was the one that actually had my work crossed over from merely internet fan art to actual production design props in the series. I suddenly became part of the stories that first served as fuel to me, in the most Black Mirror way possible. The concepts there are so rich that you can't help but let it expand and worldbuild inside your mind, imagining new circumstances, situations, and points of view. Such ideas will not leave you that easily. It was under that light that I decided to take on the challenge to revisit that world, and the comic book media couldn't be more perfect for that. Excited for what's to come.” says Butcher Billy.
