Black Mirror tells some of the most poignant and transgressive stories of the modern media landscape, and so does Neil Gibson.

Neil writes great horror. He's written a variety of horror stories ranging from psychological horror to body horror and everything in between. What really struck me when reading The Theory (link below) is that rare dystopian futurism horror note that I'd only ever seen in very few places, most notably in Black Mirror on Netflix. I said as much to Neil, and it turns out I wasn't the first to make this link, it's a common refrain he'd get from fans at conventions.

Last year Neil approached the Black Mirror folk and gave them a copy of The Theory and after reading the comic Twisted Comics were told that we were the perfect people to make the official Black Mirror comic.

This is really cool, getting big intellectual properties into the hands of solid indie creators is a rare treat. Often times strong properties are stuck with large publishers, and while there are some amazing stories out there sometimes the art itself can get lost in the halls of larger corporate dealings.

That said, doing new things requires funding so please give Neil and Twisted Comics your support on Kickstarter (I have!), it really makes a difference.

When I found out, I was super stoked and wondered how we can help. With that said, InkyPen is  going to be partnering with Twisted Comics to become the technical partner for their Black Mirror comics, or essentially, the guys and gals who will be helping them in their journey taking one of the most transgressive IPs and help them do cool things with it should they want to.

InkyPen works closely with our sister company and indie game studio Rain Games, who we helped in turning one of the old school original web comics Girl Genius by Phil and Kaja Foglio into a video game (Girl Genius: Adventures In Castle Heterodyne), Rain has also done VR installations and sold millions of copies of their games. We work in the same office so usually have staff jump across companies when we need something. This has been really great over the years as we needed their help to launch things on Nintendo Switch and prepare for our upcoming Steam launch (Wishlist on Steam if you want to help us!).

At any rate, we're looking forward to how Black Mirror evolves in media. I spent far too long on The interactive Black Mirror film Bandersnatch on Netflix getting all possible endings. Now that they are putting a foot into the comic space we're even more excited.
